Join the YMCA of Dane County as the Director of Early Childhood Education at our East branch! This role oversees day-to-day operations of our licensed child care programs, ensuring high-quality, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environments for young children.
Lead and manage licensed early childhood programs, ensuring high quality and compliance with YMCA, state licensing, YoungStar, and City of Madison standards.
Support curriculum planning and maintain program supplies.
Supervise, train, and guide Preschool and 4K Teachers and volunteers.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for children and families.
Maintain accurate records and follow all required safety and compliance protocols.
Develops and manages department budget.
Oversees and manages the program enrollment.
Provide excellent service to families and help connect them to the YMCA community.
Must be 21+ with a Registry Level 12 or higher (or Level 14 depending on program size).
Bachelor’s in early childhood or related field preferred.
At least 6 months experience teaching in licensed child care; 1+ year in program administration or staff supervision.
Strong knowledge of child development and behavior guidance.
Familiarity with licensing/accreditation standards (YoungStar, City of Madison) preferred.
Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
Reliable transportation required.
